Which route should I take?

Hey guys,

So my plan is to travel to Bangkok on January 2 2024 from Germany, that is fix. However I can’t decide if I should start going north (through northern Thailand, Laos, China and Vietnam) or the other way around (first southern Thailand, Cambodia and then Vietnam, China e.g.). First I thought going up north was would be cooler as I would experience the “hard” stuff first and later relax on the islands in the south, however the wetter is saying the complete opposite. From January on it’s going to be hotter and hotter each month therefore starting in the south would be far better as I approach the cooler north during high season. I really can’t decide, can you guys help me?
