ELECTRIC vehicle (EV) proponents on Thursday expressed hopes of wider consumer take-up at the opening of an exhibition aimed at drumming up local interest in nonfossil-fueled mobility solutions.
The 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS), currently ongoing at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, was organized by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) to showcase the latest industry developments.
EVAP President Edmund Araga reaffirmed the group’s support for the implementation of Republic Act 11697, or the “Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (Evida),” which mandates corporations and government agencies to have EVs comprise at least 5 percent of their fleets.
