Royal Thai Army bans Lazada deliveries over royal offense

The Royal Thai Army announced it will bar all Lazada deliveries to any of its military bases starting today.

The military, which brands itself as defenders of the crown, waded into the scandal over a recent Lazada ad seen as mocking a royal with army chief Narongpan Jitkaewthae ordering all units to stop ordering its products for delivery to any military areas.

“All military units across the country should refrain from ordering products from Lazada, including prohibiting delivery vehicles into any military area,” Narongphan said at a meeting today.

While he only admonished soldiers not to patronize the platform, he only forbade troops from ordering products for delivery to military properties.
