Cheesecake cafe chain Farm Design to close at the end of November

Japanese-style café chain Farm Design will close its doors at the end of this month, putting an end to 14 years of serving customers its Hokkaido cream cheesecakes and matcha frappes.

The café announced via their socials that its final branch in Fashion Island would close on Nov. 27. The closure is attributed to prolonged financial losses incurred over the past several years, including a loss of THB12 million in 2022. Its most significant loss occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching up to THB44 million.

Farm Design, which, at its peak, had 26 outlets located in various malls, had been gradually closing its branches. The chain most recently closed its Central Ladprao branch last month.

Farm Design was part of the “Food Factor” chain of restaurants owned by the Boon Rawd Brewery, best known as the purveyors of the Singha beer, alongside other well known…
