Women’s World Cup 2027: Fifa receives three bids to host tournament

Fifa has received three bids to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

The bids include a joint one from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, who first announced their interest in hosting in October 2020.

The other two bids are from Brazil and a joint submission from Mexico and the United States.

South Africa had previously been named by Fifa among the prospective hosts but withdrew their bidexternal-link in November to focus on the 2031 tournament.

The winning bid will be decided by a vote at the Fifa congress in Bangkok on 17 May 2024.

Spain beat England in the final of the 2023 World Cup, held in Australia and New Zealand.

A statement from world football’s governing body said: “As part of the most robust and comprehensive bidding process in the history of the Fifa Women’s World Cup, Fifa will now conduct a thorough evaluation process, including on-site inspection visits.”
