Weak Thai economy the reason why workers seek overseas jobs: PM

In an interview after opening the MRT Pink Line’s test run, the PM told reporters that their return stemmed from the country’s economic problems.

“If the economy in the country was good, why would they leave? Working in Israel is a dangerous place with a high risk of conflict. Of course, the government has no right to stop them, but with concern, I urge them to take care of themselves and stay safe.”

Srettha went on to say that the government must improve the Thai economy so that workers do not have to risk their lives to go abroad to earn money to support their families.
