Unidentified Female Body Found in Chonburi Cassava Plantation

Chonburi —

An unidentified woman’s body was discovered in a cassava plantation near Highway 331 (Sattahip-Nakhon Ratchasima) in Huay Yai, Chonburi province, on December 2nd.

The victim, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, was found approximately 50 meters into the jungle from the main road.

According to a Huay Yai police report, the woman was found wearing a red T-shirt and boxer shorts without underwear. It is estimated that she had been dead for about three days. No personal identification was found on the body, and the condition of the remains made it difficult to determine clear signs of injury. However, abrasions were observed on the right leg, Huay Yai police reported.

A white cartoon-patterned blanket covered the victim, and a “yant khai” fabric talisman was tucked inside. Locals stated that this suggested an attempt to ward off spirits, and the authorities collected it as evidence.

Investigators have yet to determine whether the incident was a homicide or a non-criminal incident. The body has been transported for a detailed autopsy to determine the cause of death and to verify the person’s identity at the Police Hospital.
