Tia Mowry Shares Highlights of ‘Healing’ Thailand Vacation

Tia Mowry is reflecting on her “healing” trip to Thailand.

The Sister, Sister alum, 45, traveled to the Asian country with her two children — son Cree, 12, and daughter Cairo, 5, for a family vacation. She shared an Instagram Reel featuring highlights of their adventures on Saturday, as she opened up about how the trip was “a moment of peace, healing and growth” for her.

“I feel like I have learned so much about who I am and who I want to be,” she wrote of the experience in the post’s caption, adding, “As women, we’re taught to be selfless, but I have been unpacking this concept and realize that we will never truly feel whole when we aim to be less of ourselves.”

She then gave a shout-out to the loved ones in her life who have been by her side through the “challenges” she’s recently faced. Although she did not clarify what she was referring to specifically, in 2022, she split from Cory Hardrict after 14 years of marriage.

“Despite the challenges of the past few years, I am immensely grateful to my support system, my community, my people for steadfastly standing by me,” she continued. “They’ve played a huge role in my journey. To all my community, thank you — I love you dearly!”

In her Reel, Mowry included clips of her and her kids chilling on the plane, exploring the stunning scenery of Thailand, swimming, getting up close with an elephant and taking a boat ride. She also filmed herself enjoying a dip in the ocean as she explained why the family chose to go to Thailand.

“Many people have asked me, ‘Why Thailand?'” she said in a clip that featured as part of her Reel.

“You know that I have been through some of the most challenging times of my life. And I was looking for a place of healing, and Thailand has definitely been that for me. I cannot tell you how magical this place is.”

She ended her message by sharing her optimistic outlook for the year ahead.

“2024 is a year that I am looking forward to. And I just want to send you guys peace, love and thanks for just, you know, being there for me. I couldn’t have done it without you,” she said.

Back in October, Mowry revealed that she took a solo trip — a retreat — which she said was “precisely what I needed at this point in my life.”

She explained in a reflective Instagram post at the time that she spent a lot of time journaling and processing everything she went through over the year.

“A major revelation for me was the recognition that I am in a perpetual state of evolution, and not only is this acceptable, but it’s actually wonderful,” she wrote. “It signifies personal growth and the capacity to acquire knowledge and self-improvement.”

She also shared that the experience showed her the importance of taking time for herself. “The more I prioritize self-care and ensure my own well-being, the more effectively I can support and assist others,” she explained. “Once my cup is full, I can be better at filling up those in my community!”
