Thailand won two gold medals, a silver and a bronze at the World Teqball Championship, which ended at the Bangkok Arena stadium on Saturday.
In a doubles game, Thailand’s Chuthathip Kanthathong and Supawadee Wongkhamchan beat their rivals from Hungary in straight sets, 12-8 and 12-6, to capture the gold medal and received 590,000 baht in prize money.
In the mixed doubles, Pakpong Detcharoen and Supawadee Wongkhamchan beat players from Brazil in straight sets, 12-4 and 12-9, to take the gold and prize money of 590,000 baht.
Chuthathip also won a silver in the singles, while Pakpong and Booonkhum Thipwong won a bronze in a doubles game against players from Serbia, 12-10, 7-12 and 12-8.
Teqball is a sport that is played on a curved table, combining elements of sepak takraw and table tennis. Back and forth, the players hit a football with any part of the body, except arms and hands. …
