Flood-affected areas in 6 provinces in Thailand showed signs of declining water levels and the Thai government has urgently sent support to aid locals.
At 10:00 AM, on October 14th, 2023, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), the Ministry of the Interior, and other relevant officials publicly stated that from September 26th to October 14th, 2023, there were flood-affected areas including 35 provinces, 145 districts, and 58,748 households. In the present moment on October 14th, 2023, there were ongoing flood-affected areas including 6 provinces: Phetchabun, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Roi Et, Kalasin, and Ubon Ratchathani.
In the overall flooding situation, the water levels were declining in each area, however, Kalasin and Ubon Ratchathani indicated rising water levels.
To alleviate the situation, the DDPM officials and relevant agencies conducted a field inspection of flood-affected areas in many districts. Technician teams were dispatched with disaster machinery such as remote water pumps, transportation trucks, food trucks, and other relevant machinery aids.
The public officials stated to Thai media that they would urgently alleviate the situation so that locals could live normally. Furthermore, relevant officials would investigate and record the damage from flooding to the Ministry of Finance for subvention.
