Thai restaurant the King and I opens new Richmond Heights location

The King and I opens its new location Wednesday (Sept. 20) at 8039 Dale Avenue in Richmond Heights. The Thai restaurant closed its longtime address in Tower Grove South last month ahead of the move.

The new King and I occupies a former Blaze Pizza storefront in the shopping plaza southeast of the South Hanley Road-Interstate 64 (Highway 40) interchange. The dining room seats about 50. Takeout and third-party delivery are also available.

Sue and Suchin Prapaisilp founded the King and I in 1983 on South Grand Boulevard at Humphrey Street. In 1993, the couple relocated the restaurant a short distance to South Grand at Juniata Street. Across the two storefronts, it became a beloved anchor of the South Grand commercial district.
