Star Ratchanok in doubt for All England Open

Thai shuttler Ratchanok Intanon has pulled out of the BWF German Open after testing positive for Covid-19 during the World Tour Super 300 event.

The Thai world No.8 revealed in an Instagram post that the result of her ATK test was positive after her victory over Saina Nehwal of India in the last 16 round on Thursday, forcing her to withdraw from the tournament.

Ratchanok is still waiting for the result of her RT-PCR test and if an infection is confirmed, the 26-year-old would have to be quarantined in Germany for 7-10 days and will miss out on the All England Open in Birmingham next week.

Pornpawee Chochuwong, who is on her way to Birmingham for the All England Open, also tested positive for Covid-19 and had to pull out of the tournament. Pornpawee is not competing in Germany because of an ankle injury.
