The Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) has summoned folk singer Yingyong Yodbuangam after he was suspected of exaggerating the effects of his caterpillar fungus food supplement.
Pol Col Neti Wongkularb, superintendent of the CPPD’s division 4, told the media that Prayong Buangam, commonly known as Yingyong Yodbuangam, would be summoned to hear charges against him.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and police with the CPPD recently began cracking down on false advertising in the food supplement industry.
The TV host is also being questioned by authorities after he was accused of exaggerating the benefits of his product in online advertisements. The food supplement business is highly lucrative.
