Seeking future transgender patients of Dr Thep Vechavisit

I’m a journalist based in Bangkok, trying to connect with trans women from Southeast Asia who are hoping to have GCS with Dr Thep in the next 4-5 weeks. The story hopes to document what it means to live as a trans, intersex or non-binary person in the Global South, and how these identities collide with broader systems such as healthcare.

I’m looking for women who wouldn’t mind having a photojournalist shadow them through their surgical journey, as part of some research which will be submitted for CNN’s ‘As Equals’ project [https://edition.cnn.com/interactive/asequals/](https://edition.cnn.com/interactive/asequals/) I’ve previously reported on a similar topic and consider myself a trans ally: [https://longreads.com/2022/06/08/gender-confirmation-surgery-trans-health-care-thailand/](https://longreads.com/2022/06/08/gender-confirmation-surgery-trans-health-care-thailand/) I’d love to chat to anyone who might be open to taking part to help readers understand what it’s like navigating trans healthcare in Southeast Asia. If you are a previous GCS patient of Dr Thep, I’d also love to connect. Thank you so much!
