Sip high-end drinks at this Thai prohibition-themed speakeasy

A stylish speakeasy with a prohibition theme and high-end drinks opened earlier this month from the folks behind GulpBkk.

However, it’s more than your usual brass handles, flapper fashion, and jazz—the Green Door is also meant to reflect Thailand’s own little form of prohibition that has been annoying mid-day drinkers since 1972. The design is awash in modern Thai touches, from the filigree green door to the Thailand Miss Universe 1988 poster. 

The name—which you might know from watching old prohibition movies—is a reference to the venues that used to serve booze during prohibition era Chicago (some of which still do). Found in a shophouse in Sathorn with a patio leading to its very own green door, the spot is a retail space turned retail speakeasy.
