Surviving Songkran with an open wound from surgery – possible?

Anyone been in this situation before?

I have a deep open wound (secondary healing) that must not be exposed to contaminants. My surgeon informed me that I should stay away from all the water fights.

There’s gotta be some way around that. I suppose a waterproof band-aid won’t do the trick and wrapping plastic foil around my wound will probably squeeze it too much/prevent airing? Does anyone have any ideas?

In any case, I am preemptively preparing to stay at home (stocking up on food/water, etc.) during Songkran.

Also, does anyone happen to know if water fighting/splashing is common in Bang Kapi (close to The Mall Bang Kapi) or chiefly taking place in the centre?
