Road tolls waived for Songkran

The Transport Ministry will waive toll fees on several motorways during the week-long Songkran holiday next month.

Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob on Wednesday said affiliated agencies have been instructed to waive tolls during the period as many motorists will be travelling in and out of the capital.

Mr Saksayam said toll charges will be waived on the Burapha Withi (Bang Na-Chon Buri) and Kanchanaphisek (Bang Phli-Suksawat) expressways from April 12 to 18.

The waving of toll fees for seven days also applies to two motorways: Highway 7 (Bangkok-Pattaya); and Highway 9 on the Bang Pa In-Bang Phli, Phra Pradaeng-Bang Khae and Phra Pradaeng-Bang Khunthian…
