A local resident arriving in Macau from Thailand via Singapore has become the city’s latest imported case of COVID-19 after testing positive on arrival at the Macau International Airport, health authorities announced on Saturday.
The 45-year-old man had taken two doses of AstraZeneca vaccine in October and December respectively. On December 30, he underwent a nucleic acid test in Thailand, which returned negative.
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre added that on December 31, he took flight from Thailand to Singapore and on January 1 the resident travelled to the SAR. As soon as he arrived, he was subjected to a nasopharyngeal swab test, which came back positive.
