Renting in Thailand

Hello Everyone,

I will be moving from Australia to Thailand for 6 months on a Tourist visa.

I have been looking on Facebook Marketplace for a good room to rent while in my initial location of Chiang Mai.

I have spoken with a real estate agent and confirmed a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 months rent at 12,000 per month including WIFI.

She has asked me to pay a $200 AUD deposit \~5000 Bhat into the owners bank account as a guarantee that I will be going to the property. She has sent me the Bank account details, Her real estate license and the owners ID card.

Is this the normal procedure before renting a place from abroad? everything looks legit but I want to be sure before sending any money.
