Ratsadon protest group leader Arnon Nampa was sentenced by the Criminal Court to another four years in prison this morning, after he was found guilty of lèse majesté again.

The court ruled that the message, posted by Arnon on his Facebook page on January 1st, 2021, had led to public misunderstanding about the monarchy and was, therefore, deemed to have offended the revered institution.

Arnon is currently in prison on a previous lèse majesté conviction. On September 26  last year, he was sentenced to four years after being found guilty of lèse majesté, in connection with a protest held at the Democracy Monument on October 14, 2020.

This means that he is now serving eight years in prison on two lèse majesté convictions.

Friends and family members were present at the Criminal Court today to offer him moral support.
