Tegshbayar reigns in Tour of Thailand first stage

Good start: Batsaikhan Tegshbayar celebrates winning the first stage.

Mongolia’s Batsaikhan Tegshbayar won the first stage of the Tour of Thailand 2023 in Kanchanaburi yesterday.

The 2023 men’s race, which will finish in Rayong on April 6, saw the Mongolian rider of Roojai Online Insurance (ROI), cross the finish line at Kanchanaburi circuit in a time of 2 hours 35 minutes 50 seconds to win the 119.40km opening stage.

Japan’s Koichi Yuma of JCL came second on 2.36.26 hours while Indonesia’s Terry Yudha Kusuma finished third on 2.26.28 hours.

The outstanding Thai riders on the first day were Ratchanon Yaowarat of Thailand Continental Cycling (TCC), who came in eighth place and teammate Navuti Liphongyu, who finished in 10th spot….
