‘Rising star’ categories projected for 2021 success

The Commerce Ministry has tipped 12 business categories, including online and related businesses, logistics and packaging, and healthcare and technology as having promising growth prospects this year.

Deputy Commerce Minister Weerasak Wangsuphakijkosol cited a Business Development Department study that dubbed four segments as “rising stars”.

The first group is online trading and marketing, comprising e-commerce, digital platforms and advertising both through online and offline channels. This group is being driven by flourishing online purchasing and trading, especially during the pandemic.

The second group is delivery, logistics and packaging, comprising goods and parcel delivery, transport and logistic services, and packaging design and production that benefit from online shopping and online trading growth.
