Rabbits and Port handed tough ACL play-off ties

Thai League 1 sides BG Pathum United and Port have been drawn to face Chinese Super League teams in the play-off stage of the AFC Champions League.

A draw for the tournament was conducted yesterday by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Pathum United had finished runners-up in the top Thai league in the 2021-2022 season, while Port had sealed the third place in the 2022-2023 season to qualify for Asia’s premier club competition.

Pathum United will face Shanghai Port, the fourth-placed side in the Chinese Super League, while Port will meet Zhejiang, who finished third in their country’s top flight.

The two Thai League 1 teams will be playing the play-off games away on Aug 22.
