Has anyone noticed how weird some people are with the phone here?
Why do people call you and then expect you to start the conversation? I find that really really odd. People will call, say hello and the you’ll reply hello and then they’ll say nothing and expect you to actually start the conversation?! When they are the ones that made the call!? What’s that all about?
Also I’ve had this happen twice, it happened again today. A company sets up a call for a time and date. Then instead of calling me at that time I’ll get an email or LINE from them saying they are ready for the call?! Why don’t they just call me, we’ve already set up the time and they are the ones that are trying to do business with me?
I’m middle age and have lived in a good few countries due to being transferred around the world with my job and I have never encountered this kind of social weirdness with phones before. It’s like people here perceive the phone completely differently to anywhere else I’ve lived?
Is this normal?!
