Question regarding rent down payment.

Hey everyone,

My GF and I are visiting Chiang Mai for the third time in late October and this time, we’re planning to stay about three months before flying back home. Since our stay in CM is a month before the Loy Krathong/Yi Peng Festival, we fear that it’s going to be impossible to rent an apartment once we’re there.

And so, at the moment, we’re looking for a number of apartments/condos on Airbnb and [**Short term RENT Chiang Mai**](https://www.facebook.com/groups/1751471451768032/) group on Facebook.

If we decide to choose an apartment we like on Facebook and contact the owner/agent, I’m sure there’s some sort of down payment that needs to be made to reserve an apartment. Since we’re currently overseas and won’t be there till October, we’re curious what the procedure is, and if anyone has some prior experience or insights that you could share.
