Hundreds of people who lined up outside the new Whole Foods in Downtown Jersey City hours before the grand opening were greeted by an inflatable monkey, but this was no store promotion.
The “crying” monkey was part of a protest by the animal advocacy group PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, against the abuse of monkeys in harvesting coconuts for coconut milk produced in Thailand.
