A Thai teenager went wild and tried to stab Pattaya residents with a knife after being intoxicated. Luckily, nobody was injured by the incident.
Pattaya Police rushed to the Wat Chai Mongkhon temple in South Pattaya after being informed by frightened locals of a teenager who suddenly went berserk and tried to attack others with a sharp knife.
The incident, which occurred around 10 PM on April 5th, terrified many locals and tourists alike since the area was usually crowded and is currently hosting a temple market.
The young man, identified by police only as Jack, 17, had already been captured and subdued by Good Samaritans by the time of the police’s arrival. The officers searched Jack’s body and seized from him a bamboo bong, cannabis, and a kitchen knife.
Jack spoke incoherently and appeared heavily intoxicated, police told The Pattaya News reporters. The young man appeared to have been high and drunk on alcohol and weed, police added, saying they would take him to sober up at a police station and summon his parents to pick him up.
Police also said they would warn his parents about the young man’s behavior because he is not old enough to either drink or smoke weed.
The Pattaya News notes that Thailand’s legal drinking age is 20 while weed is technically strictly restricted for medical purposes only but also only for those over 20. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=–=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
