Oh Noru! Typhoon about to hit storm-battered Bangkok

In case it wasn’t wet enough already, a strong tropical storm that killed five in the Philippines is bearing down on Thailand.

Typhoon Noru is expected to batter the kingdom tomorrow through Thursday, according to forecasters with the Meteorological Department, who warned residents of the northern, northeastern, central, and eastern regions to prepare for heavy rain and flash floods. 

Bangkok will end this already wet month with significant rainfall and gusty winds through Saturday, with no end to the wet expected well into October.

Due to thunderstorms and waves up to three-meters high, ships in the Andaman Sea and the upper part of the Gulf of Thailand have been told to keep ashore or proceed with great caution.
