No, your 90 day report isn’t always due 90 days after your last entry into the country, it might be 90 days after your visa type changes — just a note about my experience since I’ve seen this question here a few times in the last couple of months

I last entered Thailand ~90 days ago on a visa exempt status and went to Bangkok immigration this week to do a 90 day report since I had now been in the country for ~90 days — after getting a new visa type *without leaving the country*.

I had seen a few posts here over the last few months which I had followed — and noticed a lot of conflicting answers but always a couple of posters that always said you had to do it 90 days after you last entered the country NO MATTER WHAT.

I’m here to tell you today they are wrong. That is not a hard and fast rule and it may depend on what visa type you changed to after arriving in the country.

In my case I changed to a non-“ED” visa roughly 60 days after arriving in the country.

When I showed my passport to the officers at immigration they said “you don’t need to do a 90 day report until 90 days after you received your non-“ED” visa — the day you last entered the country isn’t relevant”, and if you extend your non-“ED” visa for 90 more days, that will count as your 90 day report”.

I suspect this might apply to any visa you are able to get without leaving the country — which also includes the Elite.

Just an FYI that the posters here that act like *super-confident know it alls* about such things don’t know as much as they think they do :-D
