No relief for shorthanded Thai squad

Thailand lost their seventh straight match at the 2021 FIVB Women’s Nations League after going down to Turkey 3-1 in Rimini, Italy, on Sunday.

The Thai team kicked off the third week of preliminary round by claiming their first set win (25-23) in the annual tournament but were no match for the Turkish team who cruised to victory by winning the next three sets 25-12, 25-20, 25-9 with ease.

Meryem Boz was Turkey’s leading scorer with 24 points, followed Hande Baladin, who had 16. Onuma Sittirak led the Thai team with 14 points while captain Pleumjit Thinkaow had eight points.
