My debit card fraud mystery

I am seeking help for a dispute I have with my bank at home.

I was tourist in Thailand in March, in Bangkok and Hua hin. It’s not my first time there, I came for dentistry.

I was using my debit card and cash, and at some point my card stopped working. The last time I used it was in an ATM at bang sue station. I used a different card after that

When I arrived home I found that my account has been drained at shops in Pattaya (a city I never went to). I reported the fraud to my bank but after about 4 months the bank has told me that the transactions were done using the card’s EMV chip and that counterfeiting the chip is not possible.

I know it’s not commonplace. But it must be possible because it happened. So I am wondering if anyone else has heard of this – a chip card being duplicated and successfully used (not magnetic strip)?

Any evidence would be appreciated, so I can ask the bank look into it further .

It’s a substantial amount of money that was stolen and I can’t afford to just let it go.
