Is there any bank in Thailand that will allow me to use mobile banking with an ed visa?

Basically the title.

I moved to Bangkok and have successfully applied for an ed visa. I opened an account with Bangkok Bank because I finally wanted to use qr payment, but as it turns out, I am not able to use mobile banking with my account, because I don’t have a work permit.

I needed to supply a letter of my language school already, just to be able to open the account, because apparently a visa alone is not enough, only to find out that this account is basically absolutely useless for me, since I cannot use any important feature with it. The only purpose I could find up to now, is paying Bangkok Bank for health insurance that comes with the card…

I also recieved no reasoning for it. I am truly puzzled.

Maybe anyone can shed some light on this for me and hopefully provide a solution for me? Probably has to do with it being a savings account I suppose.

From what I’ve heard, Krungsi even stopped issueing accounts to ed visa holders altogether.

Also while we are at it: anybody have any idea how I can get my line wallet to work correctly. I can also not use qr payment with it. Everytime I try to link my account I get an error before I can even give any account details and my debit card is not accepted for any kind of functionality “for security reasons”.

Does Thailand not want foreigners to be able to pay with qr code?
