Hostel choices

Apologies for Another hostel recommendations post. I’ll be in Phuket on the 21st and was looking for hostel recommendations. I would prefer a slightly upscale place and considered a hotel but would also like to meet some people and hang for a day. From a brief search, the Lub D seems like the popular option. I was curious to hear of people’s thoughts about the place? How’s the vibe/crowd? Is it too noisy and rowdy? Any safety concerns staying near the patong area?

Ps. If there are others traveling/visiting in the area around that time – hmu and would love to connect.
