Good afternoon. I’ve read through the many gift-related questions in this subreddit, but I still feel that it would be helpful for me to ask my specific question.
My uncle’s new wife (Thai) joined him in the US a month ago. From the limited interactions I have had with her (mainly saying hello during Skype calls with my uncle), she seems like a very nice lady and I want her to know that she’s welcome in my family.
For the holidays, I usually make gifts for my relatives (cardigans, sweaters, beaded jewelry, etc). Is it alright to make something for her as well? Or would a nice gift basket would be more appreciated? (I ask because she gifted my grandma and my mom a Ghirardelli gift basket when she arrived and gift baskets seem to be one of the most consistently recommended gifts in this sub-reddit).
