A fire erupted on an electricity pole near the Somdet Borommaratchadewi Sri Racha Hospital on February 14th, causing damage to communication cables and disrupting services in the area.
At approximately 2:30 AM yesterday, the Sri Racha municipality fire department received a report of a fire involving telecommunication lines on an electricity pole located in front of the hospital. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered intense flames engulfing the communication cables.
The fire department promptly contacted the local power authority to cut off electricity in the affected area. They then began tackling the blaze, which took just about five minutes. However, the damage was significant. The intense heat had melted the electrical and communication cables, rendering them unusable. This resulted in disrupted communication systems and power outages in the vicinity of the hospital.
Mr. Soranarin Phanatee, a 37-year-old security officer on duty at the hospital, reported hearing sounds resembling explosions before noticing the fire on the communication lines outside. He then quickly alerted the authorities.
The cause of the fire remains unknown as of press time.
