Elite visa got rejected – looking into marriage visa, but many open questions

Hey fellas,

So, after 3 months, my elite visa application was rejected, probably because I am on an ED student visa right now (even though it’s my first one). The second option for me is the marriage visa.

I have been in a relationship for almost 2 years, but we are currently not living together. She works downtown and has to live closer to the center, whereas I take advantage of the new and cheap condos on the outskirts of Bangkok. We do spend weekends together.

I hope somebody can help me with these questions:

\- You need to make photos in different rooms of the ‘house’. I suppose a small studio room of 30sqm is also good enough? But there is basically just one room. Do I make photos from different angles?

\- First, you are ‘under consideration’ and then some immigration officer will check up on us. Is this visit announced? Is it usual business hours? My future wife works until 8 pm and wouldn’t be at my condo before 9.30 pm. So, how is this supposed to work? And what’s the matter with these neighbor interviews? I don’t even know what my neighbors look like.

\- I assume for this visit we need to make sure it looks like we are living together, but after I get the one year spouse visa, can she afterwards stay in her place closer to work? She just signed a one year lease, so it would only make sense for us to move together during the second year.

\- My student visa is still valid for the last 3 months, but as I understand it’s best to set up a Thai bank account now and put 400k on it. And in 3 months I need to leave, and apply for a new O visa from abroad with the marriage certificate and bank statements?

Seeking some solid advice. Cheers.
