This has happened to me in Europe and elsewhere too, so I’m not suggesting that this only happens here, but last night was the second time I double checked the receipt for groceries and I found out I was charged 600+ baht more. I asked the customer service and they were very nice and paid me back and apologized 100 times and made sure I keep going back.
All I’m saying is, always double check at the counter, in another country I even came back the next week and told them they charged me twice for an item and they returned the money without hesitation. So it’s always worth the try.
