Connecting flights at BKK

Hello, I’m hoping someone can advise me on an upcoming trip to Thailand.

My flight from the UK will arrive BKK at 07:40 on thursday 21st September.

I’m intending to fly straight to Koh Samui when I arrive in BKK, but will need to buy a separate Bangkok airways ticket to do so, meaning I’ll need to collect my bags, pass immigration and then check in again.

I need to workout work out how long I need to leave between BKK>Koh Samui Flight. I will be flying on Qatar to BKK in business class so I assume I’ll get fast track immigration.

Can anyone kindly advise how long I should leave after arrival to book the next flight? I’ve been toying with 2hrs, but am starting to feel this would be too short.
