Residents in some of the UK’s favourite holiday hotspots say they love the peace in their cities without “rowdy” British tourists – but some are desperate for visitors to return to prop up floundering economies.
Global city dwellers said that British visitors were essential to keep their countries afloat, even if they are not too happy about sharing beaches and restaurants with foreign holidaymakers again.
Liam Hoofe, 29, a freelance content writer in Prague, Czech Republic, told i that tourism was a “necessary evil”, and that businesses would be happy for travellers to return.
