Chinese Driver Crashes Car into Barrier in Pattaya, Passenger Seriously Injured

Pattaya —

A Chinese man accidentally collided his car with a road barrier in the early hours of Friday morning. His Thai female passenger sustained serious head injuries.

The accident was reported to Banglamung police at 1 AM on November 17th, on a road alongside a railway in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Banglamung police officers and rescue workers rushed to the scene upon receiving the report.

There, authorities found a black Ford 4-door pickup truck that had crashed into a concrete barrier. It was determined that the vehicle, driven by a Chinese man and occupied by three passengers, veered off the road before the crash.

The Chinese driver, who preferred to maintain privacy regarding his name, fortunately, was not injured in the accident. However, his Thai female passenger, who could not be immediately identified, suffered serious head wounds. She was urgently rushed to a local hospital. The two other passengers, whose identities were not known, were unharmed.

According to the uninjured passengers, they were on their way back to their accommodation in Rayong after finishing their meal at a local restaurant. They mentioned that upon reaching the area where the accident occurred, the road was fairly dark. This caused the Chinese driver, who was also unfamiliar with the road, to lose control of the car and veer off the road into a concrete barrier. Police are investigating the case.
