A British national was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Kanchanaburi Provincial Court last night for murdering and dismembering a Bangkok sex worker eight years ago in Bangkok’s Nana area.
Looker’s sentence was halved from its original 16 years due a confession by the 51-year-old man, and the court ordered him to pay THB12 million in compensation to her family. He had originally denied murdering 31-year-old Laxami “Pook” Manachat, whose body was found in pieces along with animal parts in a large suitcase west of Bangkok in a river on Nov. 6, 2014. Looker’s DNA was found under her fingernails.
