The BBC is planning to raid Thailand for its next entertainment hit as the Asian takeover of primetime British television gathers pace after the success of The Masked Singer.

BBC1 is eyeing up a Tetris-style physical game show called Block Out for its schedule next year as the successor to Total Wipeout and Hole in the Wall.

The channel is expected to pilot its own version of Block Out. The original show was created by Nippon TV, the Japanese TV giant, and first broadcast on Channel 7, a major Thai broadcaster.
