DES minister Chaiwut proposes greater cooperation at regional meeting
The Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DES), Chaiwut Thanakhamanusorn, has proposed the setup of an Asean committee focused on fraud prevention from call centre gangs.
Mr Chaiwut made the proposal on Thursday at the Asean Digital Ministers’ Meeting at Boracay, a resort island in the Philippines.
He said that with cybercrime being an urgent problem among Asean members, regional cooperation is needed.
The meeting agreed with the Thai representatives’ proposal.
