Phuket and Krabi featured in new Czech film ‘Ostrov’ or ‘The Island’

Thailand’s Phuket and Krabi have been featured in a new Czech film titled Ostrov or The Island. The film premiered on February 1 in Prague and gives a nod to Thailand’s tourism campaign “Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters.”

According to TAT News, the Tourism Authority of Thailand says the film showcases the nation’s experience-based tourism efforts.

And, it didn’t go unnoticed as the Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic as well as media representatives, actors and cultural figures attended the premiere.

Ostrov is the first Czech film production to film almost entirely in Thailand with 97% of the movie being set in Krabi and Phuket.

The film tells the story of a man and woman who go on a holiday, but end up on a deserted island. Rudolf Havlík was the screenwriter and director of the film.
