A tribute to Hokusai

In the first half of the 1830s, Katsushika Hokusai completed A Tour Of Waterfalls In Various Provinces series. The prolific Japanese artist was in his 70s while Jaeger-LeCoultre was just born in the heart of the Vallée de Joux in 1833.

The Swiss watchmaker first celebrated his ukiyo-e art in 2018. The Reverso Tribute Enamel Hokusai boasted a reproduction of the Great Wave Off Kanagawa — the first woodblock print from the Thirty-Six Views Of Mount Fuji series.

This was followed by miniature paintings of the Kirifuri and Amida waterfalls on the caseback of two other limited editions released in 2021 and 2022. This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to pay homage to Hokusai with new renditions of the swivelling Reverso Tribute featuring waterfalls at Ono and Yoshino.
