Kunlavut sets up last-16 clash with Nishimoto in China

Fourth seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn booked his berth in the last 16 of the US$1 million BWF China Masters in Shenzhen yesterday.

The reigning world champion defeated Srikanth Kidambi of India 21-15, 14-21, 21-13 in the first round at Shenzhen Bay Gymnasium.

He will play Kenta Nishimoto of Japan today for a place in the quarter-finals of the World Tour Super 750 event.

Nishimoto defeated another Indian player Priyanshu Rajawat 21-17, 21-14.

Mixed doubles fifth seeds Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Saspiree Taerattanachai were to face Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Lohau of Germany later yesterday.
