Thailand U23 captain Thanawat Suengchittawon leaves for Mongolia on Monday.
England-based Thanawat Suengchittawon has been appointed as captain of the Thai team which will take part in the AFC U23 qualifying round in Mongolia next week.
The players and coach Worrawoot Srimaka left for Mongolia yesterday ahead of their first game against the home team in Ulaanbaatar next Monday.
Thailand will also play Laos on Oct 28 and Malaysia on Oct 31 in their group.
The top teams in the 11 qualifying groups and four best second-placed sides will join hosts Uzbekistan in the finals in June 2022.
Thailand manager Nualphan Lamsam said Thanawat of Premier League club Leicester City has been named skipper of the team with Muang Thong United’s Korrawit Tasa and Port’s Jaturapat Satthum being vice captains.
