Best pants for Thailand weather?

When I was in Thailand this February in Phuket, it was extremely hot and sunny especially during the day. Upon doing some research, it seems thin and loose polyester quick-drying long sleeves are the best to wear for UV protection and staying cool.

What are the equivalent for pants/joggers?

I don’t want to wear shorts and have super dark legs while having a pale upper body.
