5g in Chiang Mai (True Move Tourist SIM), Settings issue or just very random?

I’ve just moved to a new apartment and getting very low speeds (3-10 mb/s downloads) from my phone which isn’t enough for video calls or browsing at a comfortable speed.

When I first installed the SIM in Old City I was getting 300 mb/s and was completely blown away (though this was the first and only time) – Later on I tried it again and I had a comfortable 60-100 mb/s for a few weeks.

Now, I’ve just moved somewhere new and I’m getting <10 and terrible upload (when I tested the download was good enough, but the 5g connection is patchy)

The SIM card box said to change settings for 5g (for Android), but it also auto-set them and that’s how I got the 300 and 100 mb/s speeds. I manually set them to what they said to and didn’t notice a difference.

I also was getting texts every day saying your remaining data of max speed package is 30 mb and a text link to buy more data, but when I looked it was ‘unlimited 5g’ in the app/web page.

So, lovely people, what do I need to do to get faster speeds? Is it a case of buying a data package (even though I already have ‘unlimited 5g tourist sim’ with many days remaining)?

Or should I try another SIM carrier and hope they have better coverage? (According to here: https://www.nperf.com/en/map/TH/1153671.Chiang-Mai/11529.True-Move-H/signal/?ll=18.797483651157297&lg=98.9772891998291&zoom=16 I’m just inside the 5g zone, but the speeds I’m getting aren’t even 4g?)

Or do I just need to move, which wouldn’t be good as I just signed a monthly contract.
