Budget Hostel Suggestions in Chiang Mai For A Solo Traveler
Hello Everyone
I am an **undergraduate college student** from Bangladesh. I saved some money from my part-time job earnings and decided to travel **Solo to Thailand** during the middle of September. During my tour, I will be staying in **Chiang Mai for two nights**. As I am on a **solo budget trip**, I will be staying in **dorm/hostel bunk beds**.
After going through reviews on booking sites and google map, I have **shortlisted some budget hostels** that are inside or near the **old Town**
1. **U2 & i-smile Hostel** ( 150 Baht per night)
2. **Me-U hostel** (130 baht per night)
3. **Oyo-531 Le Light** ( 160 Baht per night)
If any of you have **stayed in any of these hostels**, then can you **please share your experiences**? **Would you recommend them? Which one would be best among these?**
I am **leaning towards Me-U hostel** as it’s **comparatively cheaper** than the other options. **Any idea how it really is?**
**I WOULD ALSO APPRECIATE YOUR SUGGESTIONS FOR OTHER HOSTELS WITHIN THE SIMILAR PRICE RANGE ( Not More Than 150-180 Baht or 5-6 US Dollar Per Night)**
**My requirements are:**
1. The **bunk bed must have curtains** around it for privacy
2. **Not a party hostel**. Even if it’s a party hostel, the rooms should be **quiet enough to sleep** comfortably. I will still carry ear plugs though
3. The **toilet / Bathroom** has to be at least **moderately clean**. Minimum basic cleanliness should be maintained at least.
4. **Convenient location**. Within or near old town will be preferred
5. Cherry on top would be if they offer **free early check-in** if there are empty beds (I will reach Chiang Mai by 8-9 am in the morning)
**N.B.** I know **Stamps** **is the best and most popular** hostel in Chiang Mai **but 380 baht per night** seems kinda expensive as I can stay 2 nights in less than 380 baht in the other hostels I mentioned above
Thanks in Advance!
